Bringing MRI services to Beerwah
The most significant addition to our clinic is the installation of a fully licensed 1.5T MRI, providing the only MRI in the area.
If you live or work in Beerwah you will no longer need to go to Caloundra or Birtinya for an MRI. Accessing advanced MRI imaging close to home means:
- Less travel time
- Easier appointment planning
- Faster access to important diagnostic information
MRI scans play a key role in diagnosing a wide range of soft tissue conditions, joint injuries and brain changes. With improved local access, many people also want to better understand MRI costs. Here’s more information on why some MRIs are bulk billed and others not.
Bone Mineral Density for Beerwah too
We’ll also be introducing Bone Densitometry to our service offering. DEXA scans assess bone strength and screen for conditions such as reduced bone density (osteopenia) and osteoporosis.
This fits well with our existing Beerwah service offering that includes:
- Ultrasound
- CT scans
- X-rays
- Dental imaging
In most cases your GP, specialist or allied health professional can now refer you to one convenient location for all your imaging needs. From a patient perspective, this also means greater continuity in care to make your healthcare journey feel more coordinated and less stressful.
Improving patient comfort
When you’re facing uncertainty or health challenges, being referred for a scan may feel daunting. Whether it’s finding parking, navigating the clinic or feeling at ease while you wait, these small details make a real difference while you look for answers.
Our expansion is designed with you in mind. The new layout will provide:
- More space in waiting, treatment and scanning areas
- Improved patient flow for more privacy
- A relaxed and more welcoming environment
As radiologists and imaging technicians we see firsthand how a relaxed patient often has a smoother and more comfortable experience during their scan.
The same trusted team
While our clinic is changing and expanding, our team remains the same. You’ll still see the familiar faces that know the community and understand your needs.
You can expect the same great service that’s reflected in our patient feedback:
“From the phone call to make the appointment, to arriving at the clinic and having the X-ray, the whole process and service was exemplary.” – Elaine
“Very professional care and friendly staff at this excellent facility, plus it has easy access and plenty of parking nearby.” – Wendy
Supporting our referring doctors
This development also reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting our local referrers and practices. By expanding services onsite, we help streamline access to timely, high-quality imaging and support continuity of patient care.
What happens next
The upgrades, fitout and equipment installation will take place over the coming months, with the project due for completion toward the end of July or early August.
We’re doing our best to minimise any inconvenience during this time and we appreciate your patience as we complete this important upgrade. We’re confident that the result will make a meaningful difference to our patients and referrers alike.
Local investment in better health
Rest assured, it’s business as usual at our Beerwah clinic. If you’ve been referred for a scan, our bookings team and clinical staff are here to support you in the familiar, trusted setting you know. If you have questions about your imaging, your GP or referring specialist can guide you on what is appropriate for your care. We look forward to providing more updates as the expansion progresses, so check in on our news page to follow the developments.
