Why do I need an appointment for an ultrasound and not an X-ray?
Ultrasounds require appointments because they often need preparation, take longer and involve real time assessment by a trained sonographer and sometimes a radiologist. X-rays don’t usually require preparation and are quicker, which allows for walk in availability. Both X-rays and ultrasounds are performed by highly trained imaging professionals who focus on accuracy, safety and patient care.
Here are more insights about the preparation, procedure and scans to further explain why a booking is necessary for ultrasounds.
